All services carry a minimum $75 fee per filing entity, incurred for each batch of mailed recipient copies or transmission to the
Internal Revenue Service (IRS).This minimum carries an implicit one hour of labor for setup. This is usually sufficient if the
customer has followed the
Data Guidelines Document and used the
Excel templates provided on this site. Any time spent beyond
that hour will be billed at the hourly labor rate (see
Data entry/correction services at the end of this document).
Recipient Copy Mailing (Copy B For Recipient only): The standard rate is $1.10 per recipient transaction, except 1099-R, which is
$1.40 per recipient transaction. This fee includes first class postage. Each foreign address will be charged an additional fee, depending
on destination country. Discounts may apply for volumes over 10,000 recipient transactions. Contact 1099 Services for details. For
customers who have contracted 1099 Services for recipient copy mailing, with a minimum 500 transactions, electronic filing is free.
Filer wishes to mail recipient copies. If the filer wishes to mail the recipient copies after 1099 Services has printed them, the
fee per recipient transaction
is the standard rate minus the cost of first class postage. In addition, filer will bear the cost
of shipping the recipient copies to the filer.
Recipient Copy for Filing with State Income Tax Return (Copy 2): Mailed with Copy B. No extra charge. This is optional but you must
notify 1099 Services if you want this.
Federal Copy or Payer Copy: Can be generated for an additional $.25 per recipient.
Rush Charges: For data delivered during the last week of January (or last week of March if only filing with the IRS), rush chargesmay apply, depending on overall volume at the time. Rush charges are either $.50 per recipient or double the minimum fee, described
above, whichever is the greatest.
Reports: Service includes PDF (softcopy) reports of all recipient transactions. Hardcopy reports will cost between $25.00
and $100.00 plus shipping, depending on quantity of recipient transactions.
Electronic filing with the IRS:
$.50 per recipient up to 1,500 recipients,
$.35 per recipient between 1,501 and 5,000 recipients,
$.25 per recipient over 5,000 recipients.
Notes:
1) There is a maximum fee of $1000.00 for electronic filing. In other words, an unlimited number of transactions can be filed for
no more than $1000.00. The actual billed amount can exceed this cap, however, if there are issues with transaction data that require
editing or additional communication to clarify accuracy. The hourly rate is applied for any such time spent by 1099 Services (seeData entry/correction services below.)
2) For filers who have contracted 1099 Services for recipient copy mailing, with a minimum 500 transactions, electronic filing is free.
Corrections: $2.00 per recipient copy. Prior to filing with the IRS, the cost of mailing corrected recipient copies is not subject
to any minimum. After filing with the IRS, due to additional labor involved, corrections are subject to the minimum, described above,
per batch of corrections.
Invoices for recipient copy mailing and electronic filing are billed immediately after recipient copies have been mailed. Any
charges accrued after that point are billed after filing with the IRS.
